I recently came across an article about the recent marketing shift that Microsoft is taking. The article goes on to talk about how the company is planning on moveing to a product focused strategy rather than thier previous centralized marketing scheme. This article reminded me of something that i had read a while back about how Microsoft was beginning to lose its edge. Thier top of the line, unique sofware from Word to Powerpoint was becoming old and outdated. The company relies heavily upon these orginal programs to bring in revenue. THe Xbox gaming console has be the break through for Microsoft, and now we find the introduction of the Progression of Microsofts work with mobile phones. It is hard to believe that unless the company brings forth an extremely strong marketing strategy, that the company will ever be as strong as it was years before.
